For my niece Sarah. ( The joy of innocence and the pain of experience.)

And she ran.

Legs-

almost lifting her

into flight.

Eyes

radiant

with wonder

not an inkling

of her

abrupt slide--

Her joyous romp

suddenly terminated--

and even

in her

father's arms

she cried...

She would

never quite

run that

way

again.

isn't that the truth. seems like you get that one no holds barred run/crash and burn and then you are forever guarding yourself against doing the same thing again.
