You  gently brushed my face

opened my clenched hand

took me by the arm

waltzed me down the hall

you sang my name

through an open window

You laughed

told me to take my shirt off

and dance

in your fragrant bohemian breeze.

 

And I was privy

to your private myths

that strangely misted my eyes

and then you hugged me

and you were

scented with inexplicable honey

you rubbed my barren, bald head

like a tailsman.

 

And for a time

charmed the taunting

nemesis that hunched

my back

 

And your love--

a violent

amorous attack

roused me

from a deadening sleep

to awake

in a long- lost

dream.
