of us

to Christ
possess a
crucified
mind
Be humble
No evil
pride
Do not
allow the
real enemy
to conquer
and divide.
Rather
Take up
your hands
Take up
your voice
It’s time
to give
thanks to
The LORD!
Tho' the world
is in chaos
and filled
with such
lawlessness
We ARE
still One
Nation
under One
GOD.
GIVE THANKS!
May you find unity and peace at your tables of thanksgiving.

I do believe in one God for all. It does not matter about the colour of one's skin, about the country of origin, race, and yes, religion. All worship the same God. However, since the beginning of such "religions," it seems many have created a "god" in their image and thus the resulting chaos in this world. Thank you for sharing, Rhonda. I was thinking more of the phrase "Under God" being incorporated into the Pledge of Allegiance on June 14,1954 by a Joint Resolution of Congress, amending the Flag Code enacted in 1942.
It was done in response to the Communist threat of the times, that President Dwight D. Eisenhower deeply moved by Rev. George M. Docherty's sermon, "Under God", encouraged Congress to add those words.
Rev. Docherty was an erudite Scotsman who succeeded the legendary Peter Marshall as pastor of New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Northwest Washington. He was invited to address that year's
Washington Pilgrimage, which was an annual convergence of more than 500 religious leaders who came to the Nation's Capital to rekindle their patriotism.
The Pledge of Allegiance was actually first recited on Columbus Day in October of 1892!
It is each person's privilege to say those words - or not.
Mutual respect is a missing part of society these days. It deeply saddens me.
Divisiveness and violence = divide and conquer.
I do not promote that... Satan does.
Remember...un-regenerated mankind is evil in its collective heart.
Anyhow, though we may not share the same view, you already know I have nothing but respect for you, Ron.
Why is it that Christians, by insisting on having things their way, are creating so much divisiveness and even encouraging violence like they always have throughout history. And remember the words "under God," were entered into our government by Roman Catholics during the time of the witchhunt for communists that turned out to be mostly just creative people. The spirit of America should be embodied in the First Amendment freedom of religion and separation of church and state.
