There are days that forget tomorrows
when time props herself over
eyes in search of Spain
off white sand beaches
of American borders
to walk further
down the shore of discontent
And then there are tomorrows
when the sun holds the sea just right
surfing your reflection
through waves of emotion
around my feet
sending a numbing chill
a jolt of electric longing
up my spine
out to fingertips
reaching for you
beneath these waters
strong enough to carry
an eight ton naval ship on your back
off to the horizon
with all its many faces aboard
watching your every intuition
embracing your every shift of change
Tomorrow still knee deep
ready to freefall
submerge face down
gravitate with the pull
from your everything
and the trick is
to breathe it all in
to inhale as you go under
split seconds to the core
hit rock bottom
hard enough
to make something bleed
To slowly exhale on the return
surface eyes
in reach of Spain
all intentions
coming ashore when
Te amo
