The window in my living room
is eyeing the endless fever of summer
a familiar tone of afternoon glow
arrested by sunlight beneath shade
covering faces of passersby
whose bodies move like scissors
legs cutting through
the natural wonder of the world
until the core of it all
will finally expose its
dirty secret of survival
the faces of passersby
whose bodies sway
like a poem
from lips of drunken slur
thirst for the only
trickling fountain
that drips
tiny pools of sanctuary love
onto the flick of tongue
serenaded and transfused
thru a passionate kiss
so innocently shifting between
the faces of passersby
whose mass of headless wonder
accumulate from this slight trickle
and flood past my window
for as long as I can remember.
