I walk toward this desolate light
fearing the devouring isolation
that becomes me
becomes my existence
becomes my dreams
under each foot dragging
heavy with thoughts
of becoming everything
while lingering
into nothing
I walk toward this desolate light
stare out the window of hope
palm upon the looking glass
upon the warmth
upon the rising sun
against the chill
of cold confusion
upon life
before these eyes
fading into me.
