Waking

Alone

Aroused by dreams

Of twilight slumber

Bleeding into silent sunrise

Illuminating the stillness of the

Morning splendor

Sequined with the dawn.

Waking

Alone

Wanting you there

Watching me with lover’s gaze

Lying in wait for eyes to open

Smiling as you coax the wisp of

Gold from my brow

Kiss the sleep from my eyes.

Waking

Alone

And ever wishing

Every day a new beginning

In the safety of your embrace

Love’s reflection in your eyes

The warmth of bodies spooning

In anticipation of what is to come.

"Waking Alone" shows well how the heart and mind yearn for that special loved one and anticipate the fulfillment to come. The way you convey the physical and emotional need here is stunning. Your sensual and moving love poem brims with emotion and high romance. He must anticipate waking without you with equal need and longing. The photo you used here is perfect for this piece. It reminds me of a special place I once visited.

Taylor - So poignant and wispy... A bit of lovely if I've ever read it. Your words tell ur more than that you're good at the craft. I like the pace of this one... soft like a cautious kitten.....

I know those feelings very well, Taylor. Your verses express a universal reality that is mostly sad (at least the way I see it). Your verses are soul-stirring. Thank you for sharing this gift which clearly shares of yourself. Love and peace to you,

Regis
