Two Faces of Solitude

A resonant heart can 'see' further than the eye. The writing originated in a hastily written email from my son. Its power was such that I wanted to share it here. Quite possibly it will resonate with your heart as well.

 

 

On my trip to Banning I enjoyed

A forgotten sense of freedom in solitude.

 

On my trip to Banning I found

An old friend who could not find joy in our reunion.

 

I found an old dog named Cinder who has become

The center of her focus.

--An old dog who barked at me the two days I spent there.

 

I found an old friend who is no longer able to cook or clean for herself.

 

On my trip to Banning I found a woman, a friend,

In a prison of solitude.
