The me that just one minute ago was positive and upbuilding, eager to show professionalism and good towards all.
They want to see if this ME really cares about those he's around or if they have found proof that I just use to subdue those who have what I want.

and I've satisfied their quisitive minds with my personal truth, that they have learned to be me.

I save face to keep them from having to know the persona I've grown does not belong to them, but to me for me.
I save face to erase the days when I was talked about for how I talked and what I wore,

I save face by not making the color of my skin my crutch for not succeeding when at the same time I am agreeing that for some my color will always lead to conviction,
My innocence thrown out by the truth other's lies have created.

I save face because I know at the end of the day the way I live my life will only be defined by those who find it their duty to be judge,
ignoring the plank protruding from their eyes to squint enough to irritate the straw in mine.

So I continue to save face and pace the way I conduct myself so I don't fall victim to the trap of believing the hype.
