No Need of Artificial Light

I had no need of artificial light,
My old friend, Moon, was enough
To Illuminate the well worn path to my horses.

I was welcomed softly forth,
By the soft nickers of the horses,
And our resident barn owls cooing hoots.
They soothed my sprit and they charmed me.

I wonder if the moon and the owl keep track of us,
Our comings and goings in his world.
Sure seemed possible to me,

With the owl high in the tree,
And the full moon following me,
As I wound down the mountain to my work.

You have shared a special experience very effectively through your verses, Karen; and you have reminded me of full moon nights during my childhood on the northern prairies. Love and best wishes,

I like that place you took me to...and the light of the moon is surreal.

Karen, I felt as though I was along with you feeling the moon behind me and hearing owls cooing hoots. When I lived in Boyd, Texas we had a horse and barn and you brought me back there today. I could even smell the hay...God Bless! ~Chessly

I could so see the path in the moonlight and also hear the sounds of the horses and owl...lovely.
