Riding To The Great Divide

Hot days like this I like to sit inside

Remembering cool days going over  the divide

On a good horse I slowly rode

Tall in the saddle and quite bold

Now past the tree line ... higher with each stride

Getting ever closer to the top of the divide

Off in the distance capped mountains rise high

Breaking the silence I hear a Eagle cry

A small creature runs off to hide

I am now on top of the divide

Only a moment to stop and enjoy  the day

Far to soon will be on my way

I turn to look about far and wide

Seeing all the beauty from the great divide

Now I am back in this comfortable seat

In the  cool away from the heat

Think I will stay here and take one more ride

Back again up to the great divide

Wht a beautiful way to keep cool by recalling great memories. Your poem donates the ride along the steep path to the Great divide. Next time you go, saddle a horse for me. I'd like to take in all that beauty too.
