Each in silence wonder where all the years have went
Step for step... they keep in pace
All of lifes callenges.... together they face
Their long road hasn't always been smooth
Their deep love kept them in the grove
They continue to walk hand in hand
Hoping this stroll will never end

I hope the marriages of today with our young people still feel this way. This is the way God intended for man and wife to live. Your poem made me recall how difficult it was to watch older couples walk hand in hand or arms linking when my ex left after 38 years. I thought about all the blessings and the trials we had shared together, but alas no more. The vivid memories become clouded with a different set of emotions when recalled only by one and not by both...one wonders why can't the one that left, the one that took a different path, what does he recall now, how does he feel if he/she allows the mind to recall the years spent in marriage with the first one, or the second one, etc. Thank you for reminding me of what a true couple should look like. Love it. It is so nice to see people who stay together and are still in love and loving.
this is very special...a testament to enduring love! I'm always impressed when a poet uses an 'almost rhyme' that actually works, as you did in the final couplet!
