There is this sad and desperate place
That I let myself half live
I seek to numb the feel
Of fire searing flesh
These words you throw out like
The lashes of whip
I hate myself for feeling too much
For giving you power to hurt
For letting these things you say and do
Leave me hollowed and empty
The love we may once have had is dead
This hurt, the expanse, the emptiness remains
Grown wide like a crater
Of earth spread out by a bomb
And I wander the distopiate future I have built in my mind
The days gone dusty and hot
Choking on ash I forget the living
And slowly run empty, lonely in crowds
I cannot blame you anymore,
I was weak, I was needy,I needed more
I felt empty without love
And ate hatred rather than being alone
As long as you would call it love
For who else but you can slay the dragon of you
We certainly are a vulnerable species to so very much. You give realistic insight here into a womans delicate heart and how it can be wounded and strong at the same moment. Superb!
