Flood waters came hurtling down from the High North
Swamping anything on its path with equal wrath
Turning farmlands into lakes,
A thriving city into a cesspool,
Dotted with rooftops of sunken houses,
And a car plant into a pool of swimming cars
As great institutions raised their flood walls,
In a race against the rising waters,
A lad gently carried his dog to a small boat,
Pushing it to a high ground,
A muscular man waded through the flooded streets
Carrying an old woman in his arms
As the usual elites cower in fear,
Of losing their expensive cars and homes
Elephant keepers and their gentle behemoths
Wandered through the flooded streets
Subtly dispensing a code
Of survival in adversity
In a still dry patch of a small kind community
Brownie, the friendly dog, walked around
Wagging his tail and licking anyone he meets
And the sparrows in greater numbers
Chirp noisily by the windows
Asking for their daily feed of grains

Powerfully penned, my friend. I've always believed that we can learn much from animals.
Awesome imagery
Most enjoyable reading
