Poems on poverty

Please be quiet
Just have they
Few innocent faces
Fallen into slumber
Not in a cozy couch
But in the nook of
Ramshackle shed.

My wife has just
Nourished them
Not with sumptuous bread and butter,
But have beguiled them
With fairy tales and water

I don't even have a penny
To buy a cigarette,
And I just wonder…
How this night will pass.

And if your
Screeching voice
Breaks the lull of the night
And enters into my shed.
Those innocent beings
Will wake up
And will cry…

Hungry! Hungry! Hungry!
