i wrote this poem about myself because all my life i have been hurt and degraded because of who i am. so hopefully this poem can touch the hearts of others who are feeling they are not part of the "in crowd".
im just an old fashioned girl
living in a modern world
i always try never to hide
the way i feel deep inside
i dont care what people say
about my values and the way
my life is different from their own
this is the way i have grown
into the woman who can be
proud of her identity
i never judge or criticize
or spread harmful vicious lies
i always lend a helping hand
beside my friends i'll always stand
a child i could never hurt
or treat anyone like dirt
my number one priority
will always be my family
making sure these things i've said
always stick inside their heads
