Each morning as I wake,
With coffee in hand and a bounce in my step,
I walk down the narrow hall
I welcome the new day with my Friend.
The place where I feel safe and warm,
And start with my morning prayer
Remembering God is always with me,
I have to neither dread nor fear.
Looking up words I didn't understand;
Believing grace will guide me in perfect peace
Seeking tenaciously to see what Christ wants me to see,
And wanting only to become what He wants me to be.
To see the miracles of Egypt
See Moses hold his arms up for Victory!
To see Samuel weep over the first king, Saul,
The Israelites wanted a King, rejecting God.
Mind-vision as God tells Samuel "he looks on the heart"
To know if one is worthy, the new plan to embark.
See Saul fling the sword toward David
And by God's grace, David becomes King.
As each story unfolds, even the Old Testament as jewels,
If one is willing enough to seek
The precious understanding is awesome,
Wanting to keep on keeping on; not look on defeat!
Love,
CJ
