A New Years Prayer

As I reflect upon the year as it is quickly coming to a close...I felt compelled to thank the Lord for being so good to me...

A New Years Prayer…

 

Dear Lord, thank you for being there for me,

When I felt alone in this big scary world…

you gave me comfort and whispered in my ear,

Your not alone my child, I will never forsake you…


Thank you for being there when the world seemed overcrowded,

You gave me peace when I needed a little quiet time,

Relax my child and listen to the water flow,

Listen as the wind softly blows,

Feel that gentle breeze upon your face…


For it is I…

Yes, thank you Lord for the land that you have provided me,

I give unto you this land to work and enjoy,
to feed your family and animals…enjoy my child.

Thank you dear Lord for my home, clothes, food, and health,

You need shelter my child so this I will gladly provide,

Your modest apparel…brings a smile to my face,
Eat healthy from what I provide my child and enjoy…it is plentiful.

Thank you dear Lord for supplying our jobs,

You are welcome my child,

For I have placed you with my little one’s…

Care for them well, nourish them and teach them of me.

Thank you dear Lord for my family whom I love so dear,
your family is my family too,
enjoy them as I do,
protect them as my constant hand is upon them as well.

Thank you dear father for yet another day,
Enjoy the day my child for time quickly passes,
tell others of your faith,
invite them to my house…help them to find my grace,

there is much work to do.

But…most of all thank you Lord for dieing for me,
No need to thank me…for it was my father’s will,
I did this so the world may be saved,
salvation is free…tell them about me.

Oh, and Lord thank you for another year…

Keep running this race my child,

Don’t give up, even when the load is heavy,

When trials seem hard, stop and pray,
For remember my child…in heaven forever is a day…
yes, time will be eternal.

Oh, and Lord…just incase I forgot to say, I will say it now…
Happy Birthday dear Lord…even if it’s a few days late.

Thank you my child…


For many have forgotten and others just don’t know,
remind them, tell them…much work to be done,

Now go on your way…

Oh and thank you child for taking time to stop and pray….

Oh Joyce, this is so uplifting, pertinent reminders that we should all focus on more than ourselves and be grateful indeed for the gifts we have been given. We take so much for granted and you are so right, spiritual awareness is probably the most important aspect that can so frequently be discounted. Beautiful work. Happy new year to you my dear friend. Yes, it is a time for giving thanks. Your poem reminds me that there is much we all have to be thankful for---perhaps even the problems since we learn so much from them when we are willing to tackle them toward the goal of resolution. I enjoyed your poem.

A wonderfull Prayer and a thoughtfull poem, it is so nice to be reminded of the gifts and the immense love from our Lord Jesus who gave His life just for Us.
