A Cowgirl Dreams..

Somewhere out there, there's a Cowboy I know!
Not who he is,
But his heart and his soul:

Sometimes I read stories
I find time to time,
bout him, and his life.
Some... by "his" hand.

They take me to places,
That he may have been.
Or the places he dreams of
his "Someday When's"

The images I see, so clear in my mind.
I know he is out there, just as sure as the stars.
Maybe I'll find him, that day may well come,
Off in the future, Somewhere, some place,
Someday, ...Sometime, Some way.

Just like, the stories,
I've found here and there,
bout the life that he leads
The place he calls home.

The reasons he's lonely
What makes him go on,
The lesson's he learned
from his travelin around.

"I've been to his world
And stay there at times,
The beautiful places,
I see in my mind.

Pastel blue skies, wide open range,
Crystal clear waters, and high mountain pines.
I can smell the sage, right after the rain.
Feel the slight chill, as the sun's going down.

A might pretty picture,
He's painted with words.
Always so perfect,
so clear and Serene.

I know he's out there
Somewhere, .. Some place
I see time to time
what must be a trace;

I may never find him,
and that'll be fine,
I still see him often,
Sometimes in my dreams

This is great! I am so envious of your ranch life! Writing such romantic words about a Cowboy. Now, I want a Cowboy too (smile...) When you find your's make sure he has a brother for me! (jk). Great poem!!!

Wonderful D! I live in the middle of horses and ranches in Arizona and you are right, there is nothing like the smell of the desert after a rain!Don't happen often but when it does rain I love it.Good write! Gregg
