N-The-Eye-Of-The Sniper
A Daily conversation for me during the days of the sniper in Northern Virginia was re-enforcement in my belief of God and walking by Faith. Many claim this belief, but many stayed home from work, and some allowed children to stay home from school.
I confess an absolute trust in God, and realize the impossible can be accomplished with faith. During those times our liberties, the right of life, and the pursuit of happiness were challenged. Not many children were pleased with these events; especially after a young student was shot on his way to school. All school activities were halted, as most feared for their children’s safety.
Our communities were under an undeclared state of siege. I asked God after the birth of my children, to shelter and watch over them when I wasn’t able. I know, should anything happen to them, it will be dealt with by the almighty in his time frame. I too have experienced the pain of death, with the sudden lost of a loved one.
Some scrambled to find a reason for these events forgetting that God moves in mysterious ways. I witnessed the cities, and the counties finally become the villages they were always meant to be. It’s hard to see the sun through the clouds, when buried deep in fear.
During my travels about the country, I met and spoke with people from Atlanta, North Carolina, Florida and New York. All expressed their concerns about the well being of others, whom they love and cared for as we walked in the eye of the sniper.
My sister-in-law living in New York canceled her planned business trip to Washington, DC because her co-workers were not willing to walk in the valley of the shadow of death in the eye of the sniper.
I know that tomorrow isn’t promised to me and realized, that the birds continued to sing each morning, as the sun continued to rise during those days. Most were flat out afraid, even to pump their own gasoline.
Some were afraid to shop for groceries; believe it or not even crime went down. Yes criminals were afraid so don’t be shame if you too, were afraid in the eye of the sniper. I live each day knowing that it could well be my last, and when this happens, I would have given to other’s what God gave to me—Faith, Love and Life.
