Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Poem Artwork

A BEAUTIFUL PLACE

Before me float white billowing clouds
Against a background of rich blue sky
All nestled over a shimmering sheet of water
Breaking across a pristine white-sand beach.
It is a beautiful place I want to share

Rising majestically out of a broad range
Of rolling green hills dotted with fields of
Lush trees stands the royal beauty
Of a prominent white-capped mountain
It is a beautiful place I want to share

Thatch-roofed huts stand on stilted legs
Spiraling up out of a smooth green sea
Backdropped with huge green mountains
Poking up through soft white clouds
It is a beautiful place I want to share

Nestled in the side of a leafy green
Hillside sits a slant-topped hut with
Its large round entrance surrounded
By a rainbow of delicate Spring flowers.
It is a beautiful place I want to share

Streaming from a hundred feet above
Glisten a dozen cascading waterfalls
Plummeting from their lush green escarpment
Into their peaceful pond below.
It is a beautiful place I want to share

Cuddled close together, two giant white
Swans float gently on the still water
Backdropped with a green shoreline
Proudly showing off its orange-shaded trees.
It is a beautiful place I want to share

From the top of the captivating tower
I see hundreds of miles of city and
Country lighted spires dazzling the
Night time scene with spellbinding beauty
It is a beautiful place I want to share

Framing a smile of softly tinted lips
Golden sunlight glitters your hair and
Lights up my world with the freshness
Of Springtime in a meadowed park
Next to you is a beautiful place
too precious to share

A thousand variations like a kaleidoscope of beauty and the emotions it creates that are worth sharing. But then, there is one feeling, a voice that tells us we found the right place and that is where se want to stay. As a nomadic soul, I have never found mine, but I do feel the longing.
(It's been a while, but I'm back on AD... that's a place too()

The last line is the cork on this fine bottle of wine. To think I had been to all of those places alone with no one to share it with. And then, that time at the big tree when you climbed into the spreading branches and the sun shone through your naturally wavy, incredibly beautiful hair… Suddenly, I was there, too. And you are with me still with hair that can kill.

Fond remembrances you sparked with this poem!
