Well, this, to me, takes The Glittering Prize in the Valentine's Poem stakes, if one were being offered, Richard. It's confident and assured; proclamatory loud and proud - yet so tender and intimate at the same time. What I love about it is the solid refrain that speaks of an eternal perspective which condenses time in an almost William Blake kind of way - YET the vision remains brightly coloured, standing square and true and ever advancing. This is what it means to love and be loved to the uttermost and forever. Soulmates indeed. I salute you and congratulate you on a most wonderful write and, most of all, on the sustaining of a relationship that has been always "meant to be!" Totally knockout! Bless you both! Kate xx

What a b e a u t i f u l tribute, Richard! Poignant, tender, passionate. . .I could go on and on. Incidentally, my husband and I celebrated our 56th anniversary January 28th. Goes by fast, doesn't it? If only we could freeze Time. All we can do is fill the little bit we are given with tokens of affection like saying I love you and holding hands and doing our best to ignore each other's peccadillo's (sp?). Doesn't hurt to write a love poem from time to time.:)

Always have our memories and the knowledge that love never dies.

Many "old folk" will relate and find themselves having the same kind of memories because, after going so long on life's bumpy roads there always will be those moments when we stopped and with our arm around her shoulders we let our eyes to be enjoyed.
