For MK
I found this poem stuck in an obscure notebook. I don't think I've shared it before. If I have, my apologies...
The years past
Are as smoke,
Clearing then gone
Before the winds
That herald change.
Close friends grow distant
As they follow
Their own paths,
Paths quite separate
From my own,
Filled with friends
Old and new
And significant life challenges
That cannot be understood
By those,
Like myself,
Whose experiences differ.
But I can remember
With a fond smile
The brief time
When our paths converged
And we walked
Side by side,
Sharing many late nights
And so much laughter,
The sadness
And the joys
Of being alive,
As well as the adventure
Of living a dream.
I'll always remember,
I'll never forget,
What you meant to me:
My roommate,
My confidant,
My dear friend...
Good-bye.

I think your words paint a portrait of you, Rebecca.
A very nice introduction.
