I just made a promise to God yesterday And this one I must keep. Others I’ve made were surface-kinds only That were never fulfilled. If God grants me benefits from the US of A, I have vowed to work more for Him than ever before. I’ll give of my money and my talents, too, So that others can benefit from all I have learned. I can’t take this lightly since it was a prayer That God help me win a victory And worship Him more that I have in the past. If winning is in my corner this time, My energies will be used to glorify God And His magnificent name. God give me Wisdom and Courage to carry this out.
You are victory in Jesus, so looked after fondly by the creator, winning each and every day just with having his love and guidance. Worshipping him is so important too, and glorifying his name and him is meant for us to do each day. No energies really needed just prayers to him for uplifing and to get courage and Wisdom which he can give you and probably has already. Great write.
I try not to ask God for help only because I don't feel that I am worthy of it. I know that is not the Christian way of thinking. I guess I think maybe HE would like something done for Him once in awhile. Nice piece George.
A well written poem my friend, from the heart! The bible tells us that God knows our hearts before we even pray. I've thought of this often over the years...it's hard to comprehend. I've compared it to a child's view of Christmas...they ask, they believe, and they expect! If we could get and maintain the frame of mind, life would be much easier. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't, just according to the situation I suppose. The bible also teaches us that God honors a sacrifice. Making a promise usually involves some type of sacrifice...have faith I believe you can do it! Great write!
