The power of the ocean is mind boggling and makes me realize just how small I really am in comparison. get
Nighttime. Alone in the darkenss At the beach house. I walk to the water’s edge And feel the cool breeze soothing my skin Lights flicker on the horizon as a big ship Glides north. Waves lop the beach and I cannot see Them. They are hidden entities that crash head first Onto the sand. I feel the wet sand between my toes And roll up each pant leg and Move slowly into the water and stop. There is darkness behind and in front of me I cannot tell where the land gets wet and the Ocean wraps its scarf around the darkness. The only sounds are my breathing and the waves As they tumble and trample the ground. The sky above is ink jet black Patterned with a star here and there and The crescent moon. I shiver in the darkness and realize how small I am The ship on the horizon looks like it’s a half inch tall And I feel very small when the stillness is broken With each new wave hitting the shore. I cry tears that sting my eyes and streak my face I’m alone.Me.Darkness.Water and sand. Melding together.Melting into the earth as just One small particle of a greater piece. Peaceful.Serene.I’ve been there. Small, inconsequential.I fade into the darkness Of fulfillment.Alone.Naked.Wiser.
Beautiful George as I felt myself drift into your words in the dark, quite, peaseful night alone. As I gaze I look at the stars and a memory comes to mind, with each bringing a tear to my eyes. Thank you for taking me away.

George, how have I missed your writings...this is truly inspirational and full of your experience walking the beach. It's amazing how our ego's can be nil as we compare ourselves with the ocean. You've captured an exceptional painting here...one that a viewer could stand for hours looking at. I truly enjoyed this a lot!

Great ideas. We are but mere fragments in a huge universe but still think we are in the driving seat. Victor

Oh! and P.S. "Sudden Time..." was just me spending time, musing! :)
Thanks for the visit!
This write makes me think of how we as human beings are not the center of attention we are like pebbles of sand on the ocean.
This write makes one get under their ego and pride and really think... About the Whole ocean the ocean being God on going and no ending.
Thanks for this.
I love this and all the sensations you evoke, a lucky man to have a beach house and feel the richness of the ocean George, waves of love }}}}}}}}} Barbara
