blanket's too thin

like me, my sin's

heavy, she says

but I don't care

I like my hair

and skin

and nails

I won't listen to how she wails

cause time has come for shine from sun

to light my eyes and heart

and soul

if I won't go, will you be there

to hold my hand, help chase the fears

back into bullet holes,

to endear

me to your love

and nourishment?

would be quite an accomplishment,

I'm looking forward to our

morning,

the road will be hard at first

warnings come from all around

but louder than they're old sound

is the song of encouragement

corny, yeah, but so is lamenting

on & on about the good in me

you say I don't see,

well help me look,

we'll look together,

maybe I'll see what you says is

there and

will be so

in the morning...

The strong and visual beginning invited me to keep on reading and I like the way your thoughts are assembled as well as the general atmosphere of this piece.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.

Haiku of a Wayward Sailor” encompasses both haiku and poems. Many of the haiku are based on my experiences at sea.
