fragrant red roses tied up with pretty pink ribbons

Fragrant red roses tied up in pretty pink ribbons,

It's scent sweet and pure.

Promises the moonbeams shining on your heart.

Holding the hope of bright tomorrows

Leaping away from painful yesterdays.

Broken promises unravel the fabric of the ribbon

The pretty pink ribbon drifts upward to the clouds feeling hopeful.

Only to crash down to earth and be stepped on by cruel fate.

Never to be the same again.

The pretty pink ribbon is smudged with life

Bent and bruised but alive and limping

Wary of those who may offer pretty pink ribbons

And roses that smell like happiness and sunshine.

Wary of kindness and smiles and tenderness

Just pick up the shredded pink ribbon

Put it in your pocket

Let it remind you of broken promises

And of promises kept.

Take it out in fifty years and look.

The pretty pink ribbon is still pink.

The fragrance of roses lingers still

The pretty pink ribbon reminds us

Beauty is simplicity

Fragrant red roses tied up in a pretty pink ribbon

Remind us that for each faded red rose,

Another one is blooming.

Pink ribbons flying away and red roses following. Never dying just apart for a while. They need each other and getting the chance will support each other. Fine write. And simply hang in there red rose.

I love this poem. The description of the Rose is very clear and the meaning is clear as well.
Well written Katie and thank you very much.
