a little poem about America

America
Freedom rings
Children sing it
Old folks hum it
Guitars strum it
America.

We all love it.
Flags wave above it
Fireworks burst over her skies
LIberty was sought here.
America.

Place where the dream begins
No matter rich or poor
Land of opportunity
America.

Wars were fought for it
Land was bought for it
Blood was shed for it
Much can be said of it.
America.

After all is said and done.
A flag was made for it
Soldiers salute it
Brass horns toot it
A leader was made for it
A nation unique in its people and its glory.
Proud of this nation called
America.

Me too, Katie. Let us strive for the day when all Americans, great and small, will be worthy of our Flag. It can happen. Good one, Katie.

Absolutely glorious, a fitting tribute to the Union. If only all could show such reverence for this country.

Katie, almost in time for America's birthday. Set it to music
and we can all gather to sing it on July 4th. -gene.
