The Circus of Three Rings

a long forgotten hero...

A long forgotten hero
A legend in his time,
Cast aside and put away
Like a poem without a rhyme.

This broken down old cowboy
Who once stood tall and proud,
Only stares at empty stands
As he remembers the cheering crowds.

He's just a shadow on the ground
No longer does he speak,
But only lives his past again
As a tear rolls down his cheek.

No one will remember him once he is gone,
Or the joys he once did bring,
But in this life, the show will go on,
In the Circus of Three Rings.

Good one, Katie. I can almost identify with this old cowboy,
standing on the sideline trying to relive the glory days.

So exciting a story, that poor old cowboy has retired I suppose but keeps going to see the circus of three rings. How do you think up such things, I know you have been writing since 8 yrs old and you are quite adept at it.
