For all those imperfect people who hunger for love, and fervently hope their soul mate is out in the world somewhere looking for them..

I’m sitting here feeling empty and alone,
And wishing I had a man in my life to love.
One who accepts and loves me for who I am,
And not what he wishes I would be.
Someone who acknowledges my strength,
But doesn’t feel that it competes with, or threatens his.
A man with vision who sees inside my heart,
And kindly overlooks my imperfect facade.
I long for a lover, who will want me,
Just the way I am, faults undiscovered,
I want him to sense the tenderness I have to offer,
As well as the passion I can bring into his life.
I ask humbly for a man with strong arms,
So he can hold me close to his heart.
One who whispers tender endearments into my ear,
So I can feel confident in his love.
Some say that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder,
This is the way it should be, could be.
For although I am not a beautiful woman,
I want him to see me as such.
He would be anxious to come home to me at night,
Longing for my companionship, wanting to make love to me,
Not because he has to, but because he wants to,
And when he thinks about passion, I am on his mind.
I desperately hunger for this one special man,
Who may or may not be out there somewhere.
I crave gentle caresses, soft kisses and a loving heart,
These are the important things, not what my eyes see.
His heart would be pure, and he would love easily,
In addition he should be generous with his time and assets.
He must always treat me with respect,
For I would be his lady, his love, and above all his soul mate.
He would not be possessive and jealous,
But he would allow me my freedom, because he trusts me.
I would not need to distrust him either,
For I would know that his heart belonged to me.
This man may only exist in my dreams, and my heart,
Still, I feel the loneliness in my soul, as though I am one of two.
My lover is missing, and he is not easily found,
I have looked so long, and now grow discouraged.
Could this fictitious character that my subconscious mind created,
This perfect hero, gallant and brave, with his own faults,
This mysterious lover who haunts my dreams,
Be merely a figment of my imagination? A fantasy?
If you are out there in the world someplace my darling,
Feeling emptiness, and a longing to find me,
All the while yearning to shower me with affection,
Wishing to dominate me and make me your own.
Then I send you a kiss upon the breeze,
And hope with all my heart that it caresses your cheek,
Making you aware that somewhere in the world, I wait,
For you, and only you, my one great love…
"Upon The Breeze"~beautifully written! The longing of the heart, the prayers that only we can hear....so precious! Janet thank you for sharing your marvelous poem.

Is a sad sad prayer to a mystical lover....
All of our lives we have choices to make
we can giveothers love or from them all pleasure take
we cannot determine the day we are to die
nor can we choose how our final day wil lie
we can determine how we will live
love and happiness to others we can give
we can choose to be a blessing to those we are around
or we can grovel in self-pity and cause others to frown
