This poem conveys how, over time, our realization of who we are and what's important in life, ...and what's possible in life, becomes beautifully and wondrously clear.
COMING INTO FOCUS As I wipe the steam from my mirror In the morning of my years The blurred vision of youth Captures a luminescent illusion of perfection As I wipe the steam from my mirror Truth, previously concealed Reveals a time-tarnished image Blemished by broken dreams And promises of passions yet fulfilled As I wipe the steam from my mirror I erase the slate of yesterday�s disappointments Undaunted, my vision of tomorrow Glistens with crystal clarity As I wipe the steam from my mirror I marvel at the magnificence of persistence And smile as a picture perfect reality Finally comes into focus ��

I often analyze myself while looking in the mirror. I relate to Sistah Joy's poem. "As I wipe the steam from my mirror/I erase the slate of yesterday's disappointments..." Nice.
