A sunlit sky of changing colors
from dusk till dawn, emitting
plasma of neon lights
receives no preferential treatment here,
for people have long back learned
the art of remaining unaffected
by the glorious sun

All day, all night multilateral,
loosely stacked white cocoons of
cherished persistent clouds,
left half eaten and abandoned for
an intermittent drizzle,
the reigning rain overshadowing
mountains and greens in a gray luster.

No rush to uncover the misty veil
in a pursuit to defy nature,
fog offers a clear vision
while mist embraces spirited dance

Nothing seems to dampen the spirit of
walking silhouettes, dew drops of rain
prisoners in their palms, patiently waiting
to transform into pearls of pure joy
an illogical happiness personified

A total reversal of nature, here in Seattle
as the meek sun in the winters, while
suffering unthinkable ignominy,
tries hard to make its presence felt through
unyielding clouds wandering with wanton oblivion

Who needs the bright, blinding glare?
when time released brief affair with the sun
seems enough to keep the latent heat going.
As for the rain, a constant companion,
offers its own soul cleansing rhythm.
