At the risk

of sounding cliche’,

Sometimes I wish

I was far away.

My toes digging

in the white sand,

As I stroll on the beach

on some far away land.

The sea breeze

washing over me

is intoxicating

Making me whole again

and I’m not playing.

The stress I know

has become ritual,

Trying to relieve it

has become habitual.

Nervous and uptight,

It’s just not right,

That I am unable

to sleep at night.

The sheep have all gone,

they just gave up and left.

They proclaimed

that it was just wrong,

for my mind to keep running

all night long.

Other methods

are not the best,

and believe me

I’ve tried all the rest.

But for now

I must say goodbye.

It’s two in the morning,

and another night has passed me by.
