HIS NAME IS DESPAIR

        On the corner he stands
        Sad eyes and mussed hair
        Waiting for no one
        His name is Despair.
       
        With ragged old clothes
        And worn out black shoes
        He leans on the stop sign
        Broke, battered, and bruised.
       
        Some say he's homeless,
        Some say he's dumb,
        Some say he's useless, 
        Some say a bum.
       
        With no where to go,
        No place to call home
        He stays on the street
        And lives all alone.
       
        Tomorrow he'll be there
        The same as today
        While each passerby
        Turns his face away.
       
        No one will help,
        No one will care,
        No one will speak
        To the man named Despair.
