I walked the other night
beyond the hillside
and saw a most beautiful sight.
I saw the universe in all its majesty
sparkling in my view.
It spoke of love and peace
and all the wonders it contained.
I felt joyous and still
for I knew I was seeing the future,
the past, and the present all at once.

I realized the fallacy of trying to see beyond my present moment
or to feel life beyond my present reach.
I knew that by focusing on the moment
I would be able to fill my soul with love.
It was then that I realized
that peace was my own making.
That love was the extension of my life.
It was then that peace became present in my life
for I knew the Spirit’s presence.

I looked again
and realized how my pathway
had wandered.
How lost I had become.
If I only took a Star
and focused upon it brilliance
I would have not become trapped
in the essence
of who I thought I was.

I sat mesmerized at the sight.
The feeling overwhelmed me
and became the focus of my thoughts.
Stars grew in magnitude and charm.
They became full of expression and love.
They showed me my path
and its importance in the truth of time.
They echoed in my ears
the love I knew Spirit was.

Strength was given to me.
Peace was offered
but I knew that if I did not see the effects of my life upon the world around me
this peace and love would be missed.
I had to make the move
to become love and peace.
I had to use the strength given to me
by the universe
to effect change in my world.
I had to become
the instrument of the Spirit's love
and in doing this
begin my life anew.

It was then that I saw a shooting star.
It caught my attention
and became my instant companion.
I immediately rode upon its back
and saw in an instant parts of the universe
I never knew existed.
I knew of ranges of time and space
that only minutes before
I could not have perceived.
I wasn't lost but was in awe of the beauty that surrounded me.
I was at one
with the Spirit's love.

I returned to my place on this earth
and allowed my mind to wander.
I felt at peace but
was not sure of the place I was to take.
I sat and listened.
Listened to the energy around me.
I knew then that my place
would be before me
that I would not need to worry
or become frightened at its conclusion.
I was only to pursue life as it came to me
and to use that life
to bring Light into the world around me.

I closed my eyes and said a gentle prayer.
It was then that I felt the Spirit’s hand touch my shoulder
and felt it carry me home.
