Love is...
Love Always when I think of him I know a love that can’t be bought A love that few have earned in life A love that can’t be taught And always when my mind seeks out Redemption for our hearts His steady, deep undying love Keeps despair and me apart Never does he hurt or scold His heart is carved from light Never does he leave my side His loyalty burns bright I love him now with all my heart His love is mine to hog He’s my best friend, my brightest joy I really love my dog! GOTHCHA!!!! (And I really do love both my dogs – two adorable Rottweilers (named Mephisto [aka Mephistopheles] and Borgia) with whom I trust my life and the life of my adorable wife).

Aww, yes you did get me! This could have been read so many ways: about God, about a lover, about a parent/father ... but I never expected the loyal dogs. They certainly show unconditional love...no wonder they are our faithful companions. Nicely done. Best, Elizabeth

The names of your dogs are... interesting. Which member of the Borgia family were you thinking of in particular? (haha) Sweet people indeed. Mephisto should know them pretty well.

Brilliant poem! The ending brings to my mind what in the Baroque period was called a concept - namely, a twist that changes entirely the poem's meaning. (I still remember my literature classes, after all)

Keith now you've done it, you made me cry, Yes when it comes to love and courage, no one can touch them, I swear these are the real Angels from God, or as closely related to him as you can be, for if he is love and he is, they have nothing to learn, but we certainly do, no wonder their name if spelled backwards is...
