I cried as I wrote this. Unlike God, I do not forgive or wish to forgive the barbarity of murder. I hope my American friends will not feel this to be presumptuous; I had to say something and this I guess is the poet's way. First and foremost in my mind are loss and vengeance. May the savages who did this evil deed rot in hell.
Today in Boston fell my brother My sister, father and my mother One family all across the world To love, to cherish and to hold One in God and in each other In Boston in the heat of day Amid the thronging crowds Where children smiled And lovers walked Cold murder screamed aloud The mouth of hate It opened wide Slew all and knew no shame Tearing children’s smiles and limbs As though it were a game They screamed to God Still now they scream Forever and a day Yet murder tears the heart of God Forever will they pay Their souls will scorch In torment long God’s vengeance they will find Along the road to hell’s dark gates And pain will ever bind Their souls to fate’s tormenting wheel Their hearts ripped out alive Their flesh in fire Their minds full pierced By God’s eternal ire Go gently now sweet gentle souls That fell to force of hate Thy brothers and thy sisters pray Across this world of night and day Thy pain will God abate

Ronald is right, but my gut reaction is "Kill them all - let God sort them out". I don't want to be civilized - I want revenge - cold, bloody, savage, barbaric revenge.

I have a suspicion that the demented soul or souls that do this could not comprehend any grief at all but in their own little world of deceit, felt they were doing some kind of good by their actions.

You have every right to condemn them. Hopefully, they will be found soon and the justice that they did not give their victims. That's why we're a civilized people. We believe in laws and justice, not knee-jerk reaction to hypothetical villains. If we had very carefully determined who caused the twin towers to collapse and where they were, we would've not had any reason to go to war with a country that had nothing to do with it.

I saw this horrific tragedy on the news. How can ANYONE murder and not even know the person, not even care that this person lived, breathed, cried, loved, laughed, not even care that a child is sobbing for their Mother or Father. How can they????
