The Shadows of Ignorance

This bubbled up in my mind; crude, dismal and possibly offensive. But it's reproduced here exactly as it was expressed though my fingers as my mind looked on in puzzled silence. It doesn't even have the form, structure, rhythm and cadence I so much enjoy creating. But here it is - I am but the echo of pain, a voice in this wilderness of sorrow...

Fire soaked days of joy

Soak up the rich red earth

And ever and anon

A stranger knocks upon the door

A quest begins

As sorrow seeps into

The cloven domain of possibilities

I make my choices amid the shadows of ignorance

And even as the angels extol my courage

The Dark One shrieks in my skull - COWARD!

The channels of time run true

Carrying me forward on my chosen path

As bloody tides wash across a trail of forgotten ghosts

And across the heavens the dead scream

God laughs, mocking my courage, cursing my folly

But pride supports me

Throwing back the bitter laughter of the almighty

Into the eternal light of his evil

Petty retribution against the might of heaven

Maybe, but I’ll go down fighting – again!

And in a quantized moment

God will be no more

And our human endeavours will bear their rotten fruit

As we assume the mantle of eternity

And Christ becomes a suppository in the Devil’s arsehole

Saved we are! Saved!

Saved by the might of God!

Saved by the sacrifice of God himself!

A bitter fate for the dying God

A dismal death for the human soul

Goodbye.

You have certainly twisted the minds of the devout with this one.

An intriguing mytheological (*) thought with psychoanalytical and ontological backgrounds... "The Shadows of Ignorance" strikes the turbines of imagination, and invites one to fly through freedom skies.

(*) — I coined the word "Mytheology" and its related verb, adjective and adverb. It is a contraction of mythology and theology. Mytheologize, mytheologizing, mytheologized. Mytheologic, mytheological, mytheologically.

In respect and appreciation,

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
