When

By

RD Larson

When I'm an elder and old,

I'll be mighty dang bold.

I'll walk with a cane that has a tip

to pop out a sword,

Don't mess with me, I'm old.

I won't care

what I wear

anywhere.

If my body is a shame I'll just say,

"So turn away."

When I sleep on the plane, I'll drool and I'll snore,

and others can blot my fuzzy chin.

I'll drink when I like and eat what I want.

But it's politicians I'll taunt.

I'll talk loud pretend deafness,

and Ignore useless drivel from those who bore.

I'll be like a Queen elegant and royal

but I'll still be me, like I've always been.

Just More SO.

This is funny but at the same time so true to life. I wish you the best taking on politicians when you're old--somebody has to and you'll have the advantage of pretending deafness, a definite plus. J.

The same as you now only only moreso eh? That's the way to go...sock it to em...I loved this,I am still smiling broadly from tis read,no drool yet but I may do that later whilst nodding off.I am getting old but have done most of what's in your poem since birth (it's the only way to go)no snoring yet though(unless my kids don't tell me) but I have carried a walking stick (a long umbrella really.... to shoo the swooping magpies away)for ages now.Taunting the politicians? My bloody oath that's good idea,I will too,( with joy).Fuzzy chin? never in a billion years ,I'd rather die, hey, someone told me that your hair still grows even after your dead,truly...damn,I may end up with fuzzy chin after all.My bones are aching, time to go,loved
the poem youngster.
Best wishes

Welcome! The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help. Beautif
