Excerpt from "Walk Backwards In Your Mind"

fragments
fleeting quickly
blood
coagulating
that which flew out the window
is grinding to a halt
courtesy of this tranquilizer in the dixie cup
they have me in their sights now
words boileth over on my stove
but they only hear
what they want to hear
this is too much
for the real world
for the straight world
I smile but inside I cry a typhoon
I laugh but inside I'm terrified
the torrent I cannot stop
you label me
lock me away
drug me
wring your hands
think I'm the devil's seed
but soon the script will be flipped
it will pass
and the merriment will fade to black
I'll be chained to bed
I'll not say a word
I'll be a shadow of myself
if you're not careful
the monster will claim me for its own
this steely deathtrap inside my head
I shuffle past you in this hospital gown
your unwilling mortal dartboard
throw your chemical solutions at me
so that I might find some fulfilment again
you can't know
you'll never know
the torture of walking this line
the seduction of mania
the suffocation of depression
lusting for life
yearning for death
with a stroke of your penpad
set me free.

Only one who has been there can truly understand. In order to understand, one only has to read these powerful, poignant lines: God help us. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, karla.

This is heartwrenching. Some close relatives suffer from this torture. I'm convinced God makes a great difference, though. He made the human mind, and He can give peace to the one who calls on Him. "Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not." (Old Testament)
Jesus said, "Come unto Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Lord God, please help this hurting one, suffering from being bipolar. Help this one to trust in You, and in Your Son, the Lord Jesus, Who died and rose again to save us and Who promised to never leave or forsake the one who trusts in Him.
In Jesus Name. Amen.
