People scream from terror and pain
While others cry and wait, in vain.
Waiting so long; hope in their heart
As fear and dread rip them apart.

Rescue workers searching with love
As prayers go up to God above;
Another collapse! The workers so brave
Have joined the list of people to save.

Moms and Dads; friends and lovers;
Daughters, sons, sisters and brothers;
Loved ones from every walk of life;
The pain they feel cuts like a knife.

The list just grows as days go by
And loved ones wail their anquished cry.
A few are found, still holding on.
As time goes by, most hope is gone.

Prayers continue as each day dawns
From hatred, devastation spawns.
War is imminent, our leaders say,
More death and loss are on the way.

Hatred is an horrendous thing!
Pain and death are all it will bring;
But justice definitely must prevail
No matter what it might entail.

The soldiers who will go to fight
Will need our prayers both day and night.
So pray for help from God above
To safely keep the ones we love.
