One Step...

One step at a time, it all fell apart.
One step at a time, he broke my heart.
One step at a time, I was easily replaced.
One step at a time, I turned my back in haste.

A woman with no integrity and a man of her own.
Lured the man I loved in her bed and home,
She believed she were coy and what he needed,
but time did tell, she was only an incident.

One step at a time, one step, one step.
His lies and deceit came out step by step.
One step at a time, one step, one step.
This other woman came between us with one extra step.

But after he had her, he realized his blunder.
And what we had was what really mattered.
One step at a time, he quickly let her go.
One step, one step…he wanted to come back home.

She wasn’t what she seemed, he finally saw.
He missed my touch and thorough love.
He realized no one could love him the way I can.
One step at a time, his cheating world came to an end.

One step at a time, I now broke his heart.
It all changed for me, with just one extra step.
I learned to live without him and his love,
With a step at a time, one step, one step,

With my heart broken, my spirit too.
An ocean of tears, lonely and blue.
I missed him greatly, I wanted him home…
But the pain he’s inflicted on me, cannot mend at all,

And one step at a time, just one extra step.
I found someone new, with just one more step.
One step, one step, as hard as each one was.
I’m finally free of that man’s cheating love.

One step at a time, one step, one step.
So many changes, with just one more step.
Love is not easily forgotten, not easily exchanged.
But with one step, a new life can be embraced.

I love these two. How true, in just one step your world can be crushed and the 'It's my turn' another one that is so true. Touching, sad, happy.

Many women were there, as you were also. I can see you've moved on to better things.

You are very right, it all happens with just one step. Love it. Very nice.
