Searching for her face in sideways seashell lines,
Too much to ask for a smile when the world reclines,
With hopes to find half a grin while waves recede,
Unconscious of all the others who from sorrows lead.
Stinging memories surround like jellyfish set free,
Heartless stand the remnants of what she thought could be,
Yet deeper she walks into the dimmer shadowed glades,
Where clowns and princes play at moonlit masquerades.
Determined to reach the other side and its silent grace,
Assured passion lies in life’s journey and not its race,
She finds herself anew at rest in dreams serene,
Where all happiness lies somewhere almost in-between.
