Yellow Daisy, why'd you bother me?
Sitting there for all the world to see,
Acting like you done swallowed up the sun,
Yellow Daisy where is all the fun?
Nothing grows here now, 'cept the breeze,
When hurricanes cough so loud they wheeze,
They steal from us just like they're on the run,
And even knock us down before they're done.
Yellow Daisy, why'd you bother me?
Can't you see the pain it causes me?
The way you smile so bright and yellow,
resting in the grass so tall and mellow.
Up here, the rain just loves to pour and beat,
Down upon the heads of folks who meet,
But on sunny days like this their ain't no shade,
To hide us like the trees the good Lord made.
Yellow Daisy, why'd you bother me?
Sitting there for only me to see,
Acting like you don't even feel no sun,
Yellow Daisy, we sure ain't having fun.
