With you I climb mountains without looking down,
the strength I feel within you when climbing on clouds,
my heart’s footing unsure and my head knows unsound,
but the risk of the jump and its pleasures abound.
Blue skies don’t matter, just the feel of you near,
if the rain comes we’ll walk through it, with nary a care,
singed golden wheat grows as high as our sights,
higher than the places where a romance ignites.
Deep red dirt flows clean through your veins,
it covers my reality and I forget all these pains,
and for those fleeting moments I’m alive at last,
not dredging up the sorrow of a broken down past.
No changing seasons matter, not May nor December,
and many years from now, will the others remember,
if we loved like rushing wolves beneath fallen stars,
back when endless new worlds up above could be ours.

Love the way you paint with words.
Love John's review.

not 'gorgeous' superficially but gorgeous richly,
profoundly, profoundly enough to genuinely stir the heart.
