a day without pretention

one of our many "simple" moments at home, where we share more than words could ever express....

i looked at her as we sat

in the green space we made

beneath the tall shadows

of the urbanicity

the sun played with highlights

in her beautiful blonde hair

twinkling each shade as

solar fingertips weaved

in and out dancing.

i watched her lips softly spread open

revealing the warm presence

of her smile

and her eyes in simultaneous revelry

sparkled and gleamed in their

green with blue specks on the horizon.

the gentle way she looks over

the peaceful scene and then turns

to me, says I love you, takes my hand,

presses it to her lips, and with great care

and wonder places it on her leg,

caressing my skin with her fingers,

slow strokes invigorating quickened breaths

cooled down with a cold sip of iced tea.

slight breeze makes its way as the sun and the moon

change places, and we continue to sit

and watch the night fall in the wonderful

glow of each other's company.

Goodness! A slice of a treasured fleeting moment seen through the eyes of an artist, and then rendered beautifully for the reader with the graces and nuances of a skilled poetess.

"urbanicity" ... love this word

Light and Wisdom ...
