Fires glow in the dark,
cold wind cuts deep
in faces carved by time,
renouncing ghosts and
their voices -

Pay heed!

All are coming,
for time is nigh,
the penance is caught
in between the neck
of the hour glass
passing over as smoke
from a pipe
passed between
two sets of lips
kissing secretly
behind the moonlit sky,
moments of glory
from historical battle cries -

Shots heard around the world!

The revolution,
riding fast and hard
on the sweaty back
of a painted pony,
leather scent rising
from her mane,
gathering moister
from the night air
rolling over the rhythm
of the reign,
slow motion rider
sprinkles stardust
on fields of sugar cane
as the maidens dance
with luna in circles
around the flames
bringing forth
angelic ambrosia from the cave -

Lullaby and goodnight!

A kiss upon the lips
bringing forth the new dawn
as honey from the comb
slowly drips
from golden ribbons
braided with ebony threads,
a dash of silver shimmering
between all the words
not said between
riders on the storm,
dust devils beneath their heads,
busting twisters
and forging roads
from whence new life
is bred.

Alas, She is my dream
within a dream.

And marked in a banner

high above my head

she has woven in her own hand

with threads as golden as her hair

that I am her Lochinvar.
