Heartbreaking tragedies constantly fill our minds
like a steady drip from a broken pipe
we become agonizingly aware of trouble
Yet helpless we try to fix the problem...
Someone dies when he shouldn’t have
Or cancer where there was none yesterday
A love lost to lust
A right-sized job and penniless future
A misunderstanding leading to silence
Communities forever traumatized
Where are You, God in this turmoil, calamity, and storms of life?
I look for a sign for comfort and hope
I demanded from Him
For an answer...
Silence is all I got
So deafening and loud was the clamor for answers
the voices of the people and the unspoken for
Why test and trouble me and not him?
The innocent stand silent in utter despair
Yet in calamity and toil His hidden company reassures me
like a ray of sunshine
a drop of rain
He is for eternity’s sake always near you
He said “I will never leave or abandon you...”
My child...“I am here”
So I looked in the mirror and saw a man
Faceless and pitiful
He didn’t leave,
No,
I left...
Yes, I’ll have to trust Him to be near
and work out his Plans and Purposes for me
And You...
Yes, we must trust in Him. Without faith there is no hope. We cannot see love, but it is a gift that is there. We cannot see hope, but it is ours if we believe. See the light through all the darknesss and you will be eternally blessed.
