I LOVE YOU BUT I DON’T LIKE YOU

Writing is a salve for me and this piece is not different. I was truly upset at the way one friend was treating another and 'I Love You But I Don't Like You' bled from my pen.

I LOVE YOU BUT I DON’T LIKE YOU

You nailed him to your cross

And made him your sacrificial lamb

When he was the one that always defended you

Yes, he shared things with those he thought were

Mutual friends that he shared with you

But trust when I tell you

It went no further than them boo

But now out of anger

You have put his life in danger

The words that came out of your cyber mouth

Have put his life on the line

You should have picked up your cell or land line

To discuss and squash the issues

Trust when I tell you that both of you

Would have gone through a gazillion tissues

But no . . . you had to press send

And put nails in him with your bcc’s

Which made me drop to my knees

And pray for him

Because your cyber tongue has just condemned him

But he is not alone

And trust when I tell you this behavior many do not condone

We were told by many to stay away from you

But we banned together and defended you

Countless and I do mean countless have come to us

Talking about you . . . I mean talking about you

And unbeknownst to you . . . we repeatedly defended you boo

But now that my brother has been placed on your cross

I am slipping into darkness

And will no longer defend you

I still love you

You are my sister and always will be

But right now I do not like you

I will not slander you when the countless opportunities arise

Because by hitting send I feel you have sealed your own demise

I type these lines through tear filled eyes

It is though you are in a burning car

And the flames are beginning to rise

And all I can do is turn and walk away

And pray that you will be okay

It has already come to my attention that you are reaching out

And hanging on for dear life on the hems of garments of folks you said you despised

You know the very same ones that were out there

In your mind spreading lies

You once told me this is a small community that we are in

And what you tell someone will come full circle again

The ones that you thought were close to you

Have come to us and told us you were a Judas boo

I know you are scratching your head and wondering who could it be

Well, stop scratching because it is everybody

We did not want to believe them and stuck close together

And said we would protect you and weather

Because we is greater than I

Many have told us that you need a check up

From the neck up

But our defense is that she is working on many things

And it is hard to be a one woman show

And they asked us if we ever wondered why you are always alone

Why you were always the victim

Before we could answer they replied you are no victim but will victimize

And that we better not ever sleep with both eyes . . . closed

We shouted lies . . . stop telling these lies

Ya’ll are just jealous like our sister said

And they responded you have been warned

And don’t be surprised if one day you wake up with no head

I cannot speak for the few that defended you

But I am now fading to black

And no longer have your back

I love you but right now I do not like you

And as much as it pains me I must turn the other cheek now boo

I will not add fuel to the fire

But I will no longer douse it for you

I beg of you sis to change your ways

Because there are many that cry for your head

Even before you pressed send

There are many heartstrings that you have to mend

They call you a liar, schemer, fraud and fake

And many other things and they always end with snake

One person even told me to put you out of your misery

And drive a stake

Through your black heart

I knew you had things you were working through

But never in a million years would I have believed the black heart story to be true

As I conclude these lines through tear-filled eyes

I pray there is still time for you to press rewind

lol.
my pastor told me when i was having HUGE issues with this girl who was a housemate at the time "you dont have to like her but God says you gotta love her" which was something i always remember. it seems so odd. how can you love someone without liking them...?

this seems like a very hurtful situation and it is interesting that the person that caused most of the offence doesnt even realise the amount of denfending that has been going on in her honour in the past and the way she has just pulled that defence down in one hit.

sometimes walking away from someone, though hard, is the most effective way of helping them [as harsh as that sounds]

writing is a salve... keep up the healing.

Sometimes it's the only solution, powerful poem and voice.
