WHY DO WE JUDGE?

Why do you judge by the color of skin?
It is only a layer that bones are wrapped in

Beneath the skin we are all the same
Too bad you don’t see that . . . sigh . . . what a shame

We were all created out of the same mold by the same hands
We changed our looks when we relocated to foreign lands

We have the same needs
and should live by the same creeds

But out of the lust for material things and greed
we continue along this path at an alarming speed

As a collective we turn a blind eye
and then question why things have gone awry

We are so divided and spread so far apart
I often cry because it breaks my heart

Oh my beloved human race
we would be in big trouble if challenged by outer space

Because someone is too dark or too light --too rich or too poor
These are the rules we live by when holding the door

Each generation is passing this nonsense to the next
and we wonder why they have no respect

Wake up and open your third eye for the first time
Free your mind, body and soul so WE will no longer be blind

Start by crawling, then baby steps, then standing up tall
before long we will tear down the wall
the wall that binds us from becoming one

One nation under God
